This SP500 chart explains the action yesterday. The Market managed to get back above the green resistance line however it is struggling with the red resistance line.

They say that crashes end in panic and rallies end in apathy. Today was clearly apathetic. Friday was the lowest volume day in 2 months and today managed to come in lower. There were hardly any buyers and hardly any sellers – with an overnight attempt to spike up the indices. Did I say apathetic, maybe pathetic would be the best description of todays rally attempt. Does not mean there will not be another attempt tomorrow though – although it should also end in failure, unless it gets volume.

Well that blew. I was expecting a crash and got a Rip-your-face-off Bear Market Rally. Looks like the (ii) wave needed another A-B-C. We either completed this today on the SPX, or we are pretty close. On the Russell 2000 it may have a bit more of an upmove to complete the 2nd wave. I have been house hunting in the NY burbs of Nyack today and so have not been charting.

Upon my return I can see that of the two counts that i had last night one has become the leader. I will therefore post the 30min charts for the SPX and the RUT with the new count. Saying all this… I cannot help but feel that there are other forces at work… [removes gold foil hat]… however here are my counts.
